This autumn, my Level 1 creative writing workshop for the International Writers’ Collective will start in October and end in the first week of December. No worries about battling the Dutch weather! This class is online.
Here’s what that looks like. We meet virtually one hour each week to discuss a sample text and the craft elements embedded in it. By craft elements, I mean writing techniques like narrator, point of view, tone, mood and description. I’ll ask you to try your hand at applying those techniques by writing a two page exercise each week. You upload your work and you will receive feedback (critique) from some of your fellow students and, of course, me. Over the course of our 8 week autumn term, you’ll learn to read like a writer and, as a result, to edit your own work.
Level 1 is for aspiring writers, including those who’ve never before set pen to paper. It can also be useful to experienced writers in search of formal instruction. For fiction writers and poets alike!
Please note that advance registration is required. Places are filling up quickly. Sign up soon!
